Rhea Ripley is one WWE superstar who isn’t likely to shy away from a fight, especially now that she’s established herself as a linchpin of The Judgement Day, a faction which, along with co-members Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio, has taken the WWE by storm.
Heading into this year’s Royal Rumble, The Eradicator has made it clear (with utmost confidence) that 2023 is going to be her year.
“Royal Rumble 2023 is going to be my year,” Ripley said backstage to Byron Saxton following a match where her The Judgement Day teammates Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest challenged the Usos for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship. “It’s a definite. There’s no if, but, or what about it. It’s my year. I’m going to win the Royal Rumble, I’m setting that now. And like Paul Heyman would say, ‘It’s not a prediction. It’s a spoiler.'”
After the Rumble is over, Ripley expressed her plans for the future, including who she’d like to square off against in the ring one-on-one.
“I would love to step in the ring with Beth Phoenix if she were to come back after I put her out,” Ripley said in an interview with The Hindustan Times. “If she makes her way back into the WWE and back into the ring, I would love to step in the ring with her and have a match and put her out again.”
Ripley isn’t afraid of taking on members of the opposite sex either, like when she overhead slammed Luke Gallows during an episode of RAW. She named another male wrestler she’d like to throw down with, the father of her teammate Dominik, Rey Mysterio.
“But apart from her, I’m always down to throw Rey Mysterio around as well,” she added. “I’m down for it. We’ll see if it gets booked that way. We’ll see if he’s down for it. But if he’s not, that means he’s a little bit of a chicken, doesn’t it?”
In a separate sit-down with WrestleBinge on YouTube, Ripley revealed two other WWE superstars she’d like to face after the Rumble.
“That’s a tough question. If I were to win the Royal Rumble, they’re both competitors that I would love to go WrestleMania against. I’ve done my time with Charlotte. We’ve had massive matches, but I don’t believe that there was really that big blowoff match that we could have. So maybe Charlotte.
Ripley added, “But then there’s also Bianca, someone who I’ve come up in NXT with, and we are very, very similar in a lot of different ways, and we know each other like the back of our hands. So I feel like that would be such a great match for WrestleMania. So if I were to win the Royal Rumble, I’d have a lot of thinking to do.”
