Booker T on Mercedes Mone signing with AEW: ” Is it a good thing for her? Is it a good thing for AEW? Yes. I’m going to leave it at that”

Mercedes Mone made her AEW debut this past Wednesday at the TD Garden in her hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, one which Mone herself described as “electric” and likely caught the attention of many of her fans and former colleagues in the WWE.

One such colleague was WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, who recognized Mercedes Mone signing with AEW as a positive move, albeit one that is a bit of a “restart” for the thirty-two-year-old formerly known as Sasha Banks.

“I honestly felt like Mercedes Mone, when she first left [WWE], I thought she would overshadow anything in AEW,” Booker said on a recent episode of his “Hall of Fame” podcast. “Of course, since she’s left WWE, she’s kind of cooled a lot. Then going on to New Japan and then getting injured, that was kind of like a setback as well. So now, it feels like a restart to me,” Booker said. “This seems like a restart for Mone. And going to AEW, I can’t see it being a bad thing, because I was reading a thing where Will Osprey said that the offer from AEW was way better than the offer that he got from WWE. So my thing is she’s gonna be able to go over there and make some money she’s gonna be able to get a check. Is it a good thing for her? Is it a good thing for AEW? Yes. I’m going [to] just say that. I’m going to leave it at that.”

Do you think that Mercedes Mone signing with AEW is a good move for both parties involved? Or would you rather have seen Mercedes Mone return to the WWE as Sasha Banks? Let us know in the comments.
